The Burdett Trust for Nursing launches ‘Neighbourhood Health: Community Engagement Awards’

On Monday 28 September, we will be launching a second round of Neighbourhood Health: Community Engagement Awards, a small grants programme designed to ignite nurse led innovation and strengthen neighbourhood and community health across the UK.

Building on ambitions set out in four country health policies to develop neighbourhood care, the programme is designed to empower nurses, midwives and health visitors to lead change for healthier communities.

The Trust will offer small grants of up to £10,000. To fund as many projects as possible a greater number of awards are likely to be made in the £2,000 – £3,000 range. Applicants are encouraged to consider the amount required to ensure the broadest possible impact.

The opportunity is open to any nurse, midwife or health visitor working in health or social care in the UK who has organisational support. We are particularly keen to support those who already have strong connections across their communities. The expectation is that the work contributes to sustainable change and showcases the impact nurses can make.
