The Burdett Trust for Nursing launches ‘Neighbourhood Health: Community Engagement Awards’ On 9 March we will be launching the Neighbourhood Health: Community Engagement Awards, a new small grants programme designed to ignite nurse led innovation and strengthen neighbourhood and community health across the UK. Building on ambitions set out in national health policies, including the commitment to neighbourhood care within the NHS England 10 Year Plan, the programme is designed to empower nurses, midwives and health visitors to lead change for healthier communities. The Trust will offer small grants of up to £10,000. The total programme fund of £100,000 for 2026, so to fund as many projects as possible a greater number of awards are likely to be made in the £2,000 – £3,000 range. Applicants are encouraged to consider the amount required to ensure the broadest possible impact. Eligible applicants include any nurse, midwife or health visitors working in health or social care in the UK with executive level organisational support. We are particularly keen to support those who already have strong connections across their communities. The expectation is that the work contributes to sustainable change. “At the Burdett Trust for Nursing, we believe that nurses have a central role in leading change. The Neighbourhood Health: Community Engagement Awards are about supporting innovative, compassionate, leadership rooted in communities. This is an opportunity to listen deeply to the concerns of those we care for and to enable people to live well for longer”Clare Cable, Chief Executive, The Burdett Trust for Nursing Key dates Grant guidance available online: 9 March Programme opens for applications: 11 March Programme closes for applications: 13 April Candidates notified: w/c 4 May Find out more Related Posts We are searching for a new Chair of Trustees to lead the organisation into its next phase of impact and influence Read now New Programme Director for the Nursing Now Challenge Read now Burdett celebrate Trustees’ week Read now
