Film Hub: Award-winning films that help healthcare teams see the world through the eyes of the communities that we care for
Our New Film Hub An inspiring evening of film, conversation and connection took place last night, celebrating a new resource from the Burdett Trust for Nursing. Integral to our refreshed website is a new Film Hub. We were treated to a screening of the award-winning film ‘Invisible’ from director Chris Godwin created with the team at Institute of Health Visiting at the prestigious British Film Institute followed by a stimulating discussion on the role of film in professional development. Patrick Russell brought fascinating insights from the BFI Archive. Sharin Baldwin shared the story of her PhD research which brought such credibility to the film. Kieran Anders from the extraordinary Dad Matters; shared his experience of supporting dads to have the best possible relationship with their children using the film. Chris Godwin whose creative genius has brought so many powerful stories of health care, gave us an insight into the artistic process of film making. Dame Eileen Sills told us about Barbara’s story, and her vision of how film can be a catalyst for cultural shift towards person centred care. We are very pleased to have curated all Chris Godwin’s films and more on the new Film Hub and we’d love to hear your ideas of how they can be used to enhance care.
