Burdett is there to support you if you're doing innovative stuff

What I’ve discovered is how limited awareness still is around women’s heart health.

As nurses, we’re often more accessible than other health care providers and and very good at picking up on little things.

In working alongside parish nurses, we’ve uncovered some real insights and practical ideas that can make a difference.

There’s a common perception that heart disease is primarily a men’s issue, yet many women are experiencing significant heart-related problems. Our goal has been to strengthen knowledge and, in turn, build the confidence nurses need to address women’s heart health more effectively.

As nurses, we’re so accustomed to caring for others that we sometimes overlook our own well-being. I hope this initiative encourages nurses to prioritise their own heart health while also amplifying the conversation around women’s cardiovascular risk.

What I value most is that this is a practical, actionable initiative – one that empowers nurses to improve both their own heart health and the health of their patients.
